Stratton have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven Accounts Assistant to work full-time within our company. We are the leading independent supplier of industrial thread in the UK and distribute globally to massive brand companies. You will be expected to have solid experience with bookkeeping practices and knowledge of Opera Pegasus 3 or similar accounting software. Your responsibilities will encompass an advanced level of accounting including cashbook reconciliation of multicurrency accounts, analysis of Area Sales Manager credit cards, management of petty cash facilities and the preparation of monthly supplier payment run and multicurrency foreign and domestic suppliers. You will also be responsible for maintaining sales, purchase and nominal ledgers including intercompany reconciliations between five company accounts and should have ample experience with VAT returns, payroll and fraud prevention. Excellent communication with internal staff and external customers/suppliers is a must so good telephone and email manner is key.
What You Need to Succeed:
You should be motivated, enthusiastic and hard-working. Previous experience within accounting is essential and you should be part/fully qualified AAT. You will have excellent analytical, organisational and administrative skills and the ability to detect and resolve financial inconsistencies in a timely and accurate manner. Your experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, will be sound and you will be able to work independently with initiative, common sense and accuracy.
