Salary £45K - £55K

Based in Cambridge, North of the City Centre, this is a great opportunity for an experienced Engineer to really flex their creative side.
We’re looking for someone with a natural curiosity, who is passionate about their work and equally eager to learn. The nature of our technology requires combining different disciplines, processes, and outlooks.
The role will involve design & set up of electronic systems using our printed sensor platforms to meet customer requirements.
Purpose of the role
Working with the design & product teams, CTO & engineering subcontractors to deliver reliable system design/implementation. Broad, practical engineering skills and an analytical, methodical approach to problem-solving, fault-finding, calibration & testing. Understanding of PCB layout & PCBA build – able to interpret schematics quickly.
Requirements
Firmware and software experience including design-input, implementation, test, debugging and maintenance (Embedded C, C/C++, Python). Understanding of capacitive touch, analog electronics & audio signal processing. You need to be comfortable working with & integrating Arduino, Raspberry PI and other third-party components into bespoke projects.
Use of test equipment – oscilloscopes and multi-meters
Knowledge of data communication protocols – including USB & Bluetooth Low Energy
Practical, pragmatic engineering/maker skills – from spanners to soldering irons – hands on for this one!
A willingness to learn & articulate verbal communication are essential
Comfortable working with creative teams
Occasional travel to London office & client sites
Ideal candidate
Knowledge of creating tools for PC and MAC and development of iPhone/Android applications would be beneficial, but not necessary.
